Managed to finish and unloaded all my stocks and shares with profits and it's shopping time for watches. Visited some good shops and also saw some rare and fine timepieces which I think I will be adding to my collection soon. I am not in a shopping spree mode now as I have got a lot of watches but rather I want to find a watch that suits my character and have some warmth on my wrist. I want something that I feel happy when I wear it everyday and gives me confidence when I speak or trade. Hence, to find that watch is not difficult but it requires some patience and time. I tried on many pieces and I would look to buy one soon since I love old vintage watches which normally have some patina and some soul in it. Visited many shops and only managed to select 1-1 pieces which I liked, too many selections but very selective on the pieces. The prices for Vintage Rolex and Rolex in general has risen a lot and will continue to rise so it's only wise to invest in a time piece which I got feeling and penchant for. I am always on the hunt for the next piece.

Talking Watches with Wei Koh - The Paul Newman Daytona
I had the opportunity last month to actually sit down and have a talk watches session with Wei Koh where we shared our passion for watches, especially the mystical Paul Newman Daytona. Wei is a maestro for all things watches and I am just a passionate collector who loves fine and beautiful things. Two of us met in a watch exhibition and we immediately made friends ephemerally. As I did a insta story with him during that day when we first met, I was sublime by his knowledge and that deep-voiced with a knack for articulating his thoughts in graceful sentences. He's just good in his field of expertise.
Soon, I told him let's do a session on talking watches and I believe within 1 month, we started to get the cameras and started shooting. Due to his busy and hectic flight schedule, it's not always easy to catch him in person. Hence, I took the opportunity when we set a date for the shooting and the rest was history. We shared more on the rolex daytona and as you can see from the video, he's so passionate about it and he knows his facts so well that it's virtually not memorizing but rather speaking naturally from years of playing with watches. I seldom had an admiration for someone but he's just another stratosphere at this moment. Watch the full video in YouTube above and see my lousy story telling compared to his eruditely expression of watches which made these objects so alluring and mystical.

Rolex Paul Newman 6239 - Auction in New York, Oct 26 2017
I am a vivid Rolex Daytona watch collector and to see this piece of 6239 exotic dial to be the main highlights of the upcoming auction in New York on Oct 26 will be an eye opener. Of course, I am not talking about the attached pieces of the watch which I am planning to purchase, but I am referring to the same piece where Paul Newman himself wore in the 1960s in the movie "Winning". I believe this watch will hit an all time record high for any single piece of Rolex Daytona and it shall set a world record for any Rolex sold.

A historic event in its own right, WINNING ICONS will offer what is without a doubt among the most important Rolex watches to ever be offered on the market: The singular, one and only Rolex “Paul Newman” Cosmograph Daytona owned and worn by none other than Paul Newman. With an absolutely superb provenance, it is the watch that inspired the legendary nickname for the most prestigious versions of Rolex’s Daytona.
For enthusiasts and scholars, it is this association with Paul Newman that has led to the Rolex Daytona being universally regarded as one of the world’s most sought after and collectible of all mechanical wristwatches.

The HONG KONG Watch Auction FOUR - Rolex and Patek Philippe
I was in Hong Kong last week when the Phillips watch auction took place in Hong Kong. There were many good and amazing watches from Rolex and Patek where I got to see many good timepieces with immaculate conditions. I am a vivid watch lover but only the Rolex Daytona and no other models. The Paul Newman Daytona has some charming, magical and appealing that made me want to buy more and more. It has that X factor that always cheer up my day whenever I look at the dial and the overall appearance of the watch. From the miniature details to the moment the watch is worn on your wrist, everything looks perfect as it maybe due to my small body frame.
The auction results was amazing. The 6263 panda cost near $700,000+ after buyers stamp duty and the 6241 due to it's poor condition was also worth about $176,000+ SGD. The other normal Daytonas also fetch high prices while the explorer II is slowing rising at the background with gradual price increment. Meanwhile, I also saw the legendary 6263 gold Paul Newman which fetched a record high $3.722m CHF on my friend's wrist. Overall, I enjoyed my time in Hong Kong relaxing while at the same time enjoying my passion in watches. Met many new friends and future partners to be. This had been a good trip and looking forward for more in future if time permits.

Vintage Rolex - Better Than Your Gold, Stocks, Properties
They say behind every success men, there is a woman behind supporting, this adage holds true. But behind every success business men, there usually hold a watch be it a Rolex, Patek or any other brands. Most men loves watches because it's something is alluring yet sexy and that is no difference to me. I had been buying watches some years back and the most regret thing was I sold at a loss before knowing that the prices sky rocketed in the last 2 years. Regretted but pleased to buy a learning experienced. It's like trading in stocks, without losing $$, there is no way to improve your learning knowledge.
Since then, I had been scouting for some sought after pieces that is liquid and highly recognizable. It doesn't usually have to be the rarest of all, but as long as the condition is superb and the watch holds some important value, I will buy it. After 2-3 years of reading the Paul Newman Daytona, it appeals to me that, that's the watch I am going to invest in with the right serial number, provenance, conditions, dials etc, just because prices have really ran crazy over the past few years and will only do so in the next decade. The 6263, 6264, 6265, 6241 and 6239 all holds a certain value that only increases with time. Buying the right watch is so much profitable than buying gold and properties. For the right watch, the value is always rising on a per year basis and never drop at all while gold, stocks and properties still fluctuate depending on the market conditions.
Since then I had been examining, studying and seeing LIVE pieces of Daytona and had set my eyes on 3 important ones that I believe the value will soar. I am determined to get it and hence waiting for chance to fly and meet the owner. Besides the Daytona, there is also the submariners, explorers and the GMTs and if buy the right piece, the value can only increase. I am only into Rolex as it took me many years to understand the importance of Vintage Rolex and the subtle difference that could fetch a handsome sum of $. It may look very similar in appearance, but it's the history, year of productions, the subtle tweaks that determines the sky high prices. I have attached the pictures for your reference and if you can spot those difference, it means you know how to select amazing pieces to keep. I won't go in depth on what to look out for blah, blah, blah because it can take hours and hours to just explain but investing in Vintage Rolex is an art which requires immense knowledge and experience. Why? Because there is a lot of fakes and different variations out there. Be careful when searching for the right valuable piece.
